This weekend we drove out Route 66 past Staunton, Va., to visit the famed Polyface Farms of Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma. I have much to write about our day with Joel Salitan--dubbed "high priest of the pasture" by the Times--but for now a few of my pictures of the farm will have to suffice.
The day, in short, was beautiful. And I'm happy to report we learned a lot (even though this was my second tour!). Looking forward to sharing more pictures with fuller captions tomorrow.
