serena, lily, and craig

I've long been a lover of Serena & Lily's nursery decor. Whether it be their Sausalito Moses Baskets, their Menagerie Bookends, or their pillows and throws--so many of their products are beautiful, well-made, and perfect for baby without being so baaaaby. If only the price tags weren't so hefty.

Well at the suggestion of a friend, I searched "Serena Lily" on our local Craigslist and, lo, three sets of the very crib sheets--Spring Green Florentine--I had been eying for weeks now were for sale. The luck! They were unused, unopened, half the price, and the seller was throwing in the matching Serena & Lily bumper to boot. Her story? She and her husband decided after her gender-neutral shower to find out the sex of their baby. When they found out she was expecting a boy they wanted blues, not yellows and greens in the nursery. Why she couldn't just exchange the set for something more masculine, I'll never understand nor care to explain. After all, now our bebe will be sleeping on sheets with a higher thread count than what Jon and I have on our bed. Huzzah! Just goes to show you: Never underestimate Craig.
